9 mandatory things when renting a car

Once you have decided to rent a car from  AIS Rent A Car, we present to you 9 mandatory things that you must remember before and during the car rental.

1. Make the reservation as early as possible

This is very important especially if the rental period is during the high summer period. Try to book at least 1-2 weeks in advance.

2. Choose your car according to your needs.

You always have in mind not only the price, but also the interior space of the car and the size of the trunk. It is essential when you are traveling with more than 4 people and a lot of luggage. (It often happens that a customer reserves 7 seats for 7 people, in this way the minivan with 2 extra paid seats has less space in the trunk. The same with Mini class cars like the Opel Corsa, usually reserved because it is cheaper).

3. Leave more details at the time of booking

When booking online or over the phone, please leave more details such as your flight number (so we can track your flight if it's delayed), exact pick-up address and hotel name, as well as the mobile phone number, which will be accessible when picking up the car.

4. Don't forget the warranty

Like most car rental companies, AIS Rent a Car Cluj retains a  warranty when you rent the car. The guarantee is between EUR 100 and EUR 1200 depending on the class of the rented car. In at the time of handing over the car, this guarantee is returned to you.

5. Bring your driver's license and ID

You cannot rent a car without a driver's license and ID card.

6. In case of a car accident – call us!

If you are involved in an accident during the rental period or otherwise damage the vehicle, call us immediately. You will also need to call 112. They will help you notify the traffic police. We will need the traffic police report on the accident.

7. Do not leave your things in the car

Pay attention to where you park your car and don't leave your belongings in plain sight. If you leave your belongings in the rental car, there is a potential risk of someone breaking into it and stealing your belongings. It is also mandatory to take your car documents with you.

8. Don't forget to refuel

Our policy is to deliver cars with a full tank, so when you hand over the car it must be with a full tank. We advise you to use the nearest gas station to the place where you will drop off the car.

9. Follow the Romanian traffic regulations

Always respect the speed limit. Do not forget that in many places on the roads in Romania there are fixed and mobile speed cameras. Choose guarded parking lots when you park. Always respect the traffic situation.

The most important tip is to treat the rented car as your own.
